Jason Roy played phenomenal innings as he scored 145 runs to help Quetta Gladiators successfully chase down a record target of 241 runs against Peshawar Zalmi in the 25th match of the ongoing Pakistan Super League (PSL) season 8. Roy scored the highest individual total in PSL history, hitting 20 boundaries and five maximums. Alongside his opening partner Martin Guptill, Roy gave a fiery start and later partnered with Will Smeed and Mohammad Hafeez to secure the victory. Babar Azam had earlier scored his maiden PSL century with a strike rate of 171.66, while Saim Ayub scored 74 runs off just 34 balls. Despite losing Ayub, Babar continued and scored 115 runs with 15 boundaries and three sixes. In the end, Rovman Powell contributed a quick 35 off 18 balls. Pretorius was the lone wicket-taker for Gladiators in the first innings. Quetta Gladiators played without their regular captain Sarfaraz Ahmed in the match.
